It is further submitted there is inordinate delay in trial. It is also submitted no fake Indian currency notes (FICNs) were recovered.

Report is placed on record.

We have considered the materials on record as well as the report. A large volume of FICNs were recovered from the co-accused. Call Data Records (CDRs) show telephonic conversations between petitioner and co-accused. Unexplained cash was recovered from the petitioner and other accuseds. Petitioner has criminal antecedents. He hails from a different State. Trial is in progress. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

In view of the protracted period of detention suffered by the petitioner, we direct the trial court to conduct the trial as expeditiously as

possible and conclude the same at an early date preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence without granting unnecessary adjournments to either of the parties. (Ajay Kumar Gupta, J.) (Joymalya Bagchi, J.)
