Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be also kept with the record. The petitioner is aggrieved by the act and actions of the private respondent and in spite of informing the police authorities, no action has been taken by them. The petitioner complains that she has been subjected to not only matrimonial harassment and humiliation, but has been faced with inconveniences because of circulation of obscene comments in social networking platform.

State has submitted a report which reflects that already six cases have been registered. Police authorities are pursuing the investigation of the cases. However, I find that in connection with Haridevpur Police Station Case No. 596/2024 dated 09.10.2024, there is no specific narration of facts in the report as to whether there were any attempts

made by the police authorities for recovery of Streedhan properties. To that effect, the police authorities would put in their efforts. So far as the number of litigations are concerned since they have already multiplied, police authorities would ensure that the petitioner's life and liberty is not at stake. As such, if the petitioner applies before the learned Magistrate, learned Magistrate will call for a threat perception report from the concerned police station and thereafter pass necessary directions under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

The police authorities would keep a strict vigil and ensure that no breach of the peace or tranquility takes place and/or any untoward incident results because of the strained relationship existing between the petitioner and the private respondent.

The police authorities are further directed to take the investigation of each of the cases to a logical conclusion.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 3018 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
