Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite having applied for electricity connection, the petitioner has not been supplied the same by the CESC Limited.

Learned counsel for the CESC Limited submits that the petitioner has suppressed that on previous occasions as well, the petitioner was not given connection on similar applications. It is submitted that the premises, where electricity connection is sought, comprises of two rooms and a common privy in a hut. Since the petitioner as well as his brother is already enjoying an electricity connection, the CESC apprehends splitting of load if another connection is given.

Learned counsel for the petitioner controverts such allegation.

Be that as it may, since the apprehension of splitting of load has been raised, the matter

pertains to the domain of the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer.

Accordingly, W.P.A. No.2891 of 2024 is disposed of by granting the petitioner liberty to raise the issues in the present writ petition before the appropriate Grievance Redressal Officer.

If so approached, the said Grievance Redressal Officer shall decide the issues upon giving opportunity of hearing to all concerned, in accordance with law and at the earliest, positively within four weeks from the date of communication of this order to the said Grievance Redressal Officer.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
