(A 212) (S. Banerjee) At the time of call no one appears for the petitioner and no accommodation is prayed for. However, on perusal of records it appears that the petitioner prayed for engagement as Second Pump Operator under Public Health Engineering Department and in this regard an application was made to the concerned respondent authorities for his engagement as Second Pump Operator.

Having considered the case made out in this writ petition it appears that the issue involved in this writ petition does not relate to Panchayat authorities. In fact, the petitioner is seeking engagement under Public Health Engineering Department, Government of West Bengal.

In view of nature of the prayer made in this writ petition, the writ application is not maintainable under Article 226 of the Constitution of India and accordingly the writ petition stands dismissed. However, this order

shall not preclude the petitioner to take steps in accordance with law for redressal of his grievance. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to respective parties upon compliance of requisite formalities.
