Pursuant to the direction of this Court dated July 1, 2021, the Joint Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department, by a letter dated August 31, 2021 requested the Chairperson, Board of Administrators, Midnapore municipality to comply with the order of the High Court and to do the needful in order to release the pensionary benefits of the petitioner an ex-employee of the Midnapore municipality, at the earliest. Mr. Sikdar, learned advocate appearing on behalf of the municipality submits that the municipality shall take all steps to comply with the direction of the Joint Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department. Such direction of the Joint

Secretary to the Government of West Bengal is kept on record.

Under such circumstances, nothing further remains to be decided in this writ petition as the municipal authorities have undertaken to abide by the direction of the Joint Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department dated August 31, 2021.

The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from date of communication of this order. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. However, there will be no order as to costs.

All the parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
