Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be taken on record.

The writ petitioner is aggrieved that investigation into Burdwan P.S. FIR No. 51 of 2022 dated 14th January, 2022 has not been completed by the Burdwan Police Station.

Counsel for the State submits that investigation has progressed substantially, and that the accused persons are absconding. He further submits that Medico Legal documents have already been collected, and witnesses have been examined as well.

In that view of the matter, this Court directs the Burdwan Police Station to complete investigation and file final report before the jurisdictional Magistrate, within a period of two months from date.

Since the accused persons are absconding, the Investigating Officer of the case, has already applied for issuance of warrant and other steps shall

undertake, to compel the presence of the accused persons.

The Investigating Officer of the case shall also consider taking the statement of the victim under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, if not already done.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
