Kausik (Rejected) CRM (NDPS) 282 of 2026 In Re: An Application for Bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023/ Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 in connection with Kharagpur Local Police Station Case No. 149 of 2025 dated 14.02.2025 under section 20(b)(ii)(c) of the NDPS Act.

Mr. Bitasok Banerjee Ms. Poulami Bose ......for the State.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 1 year and only charge has been framed very recently.

Learned advocate for the State submits that witness action will commence very soon and the complicity of the petitioner is overwhelming so far as the alleged contraband is concerned.

Be that as it may, having considered that the stage of the case is ready for witness action, I am inclined to release the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, CRM(NDPS) 282 of 2026 is dismissed.
