Petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that the information furnished on 24th January, 2025 was not acted upon by the police authorities.

State has submitted a report. Report reflects that since the allegation of physical assault of the petitioner on 16th December, 2024 took place within the jurisdiction of a separate police station, as such, the petitioner was referred to the concerned police station.

In view of the change of law and the phrase zero FIR being introduced in the present BNSS, 2023, Watgunge Police Station will register zero FIR under the relevant provisions of law as they are of the opinion that the jurisdiction would fall under a

different police station, they would send it to the concerned police station.

Petitioner is directed to approach the police station. In the meantime, Mr. Banerjee, learned Additional Government Pleader would communicate the order to the Officer-in-Charge, Watgunge Police Station to take appropriate action.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 3386 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
