The petitioner says that the writ petition was filed on 5th February, 2020, for getting a new connection in view of the failure on the part of the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (in short, WBSEDCL) to give connection pursuant to the petitioner's application.

The petitioner says that the connection has been effected on 17th February, 2020 and as such, the petitioner does not wish to proceed with the writ petition.

On behalf of the WBSEDCL, it is submitted that as per their record the new connection has been effected on 15th February, 2020.

Be that as it may, since the petitioner is not willing to proceed with the writ petition, the same is dismissed for non-prosecution.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
