Unauthorized construction has been detected and steps have been taken by the Howrah Municipal Corporation to demolish the balance unauthorized portion.

Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that apart from making holes in the ceiling and the wall, no demolition work has taken place. Learned advocate appearing for the Howrah Municipal Corporation has produced documents before this Court to submit that date for further demolition has been fixed by the Corporation and intimation of the same has been forwarded to the Commissioner of Police, Howrah Police Commissionerate for providing adequate police force.

The Corporation is directed to proceed with the demolition work on the scheduled date.

The Corporation shall conduct the demolition work on day two day basis till the entire unauthorized construction, both internal and external, is pulled down.

The contempt application stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
