Mr. Ghosal, learned advocate appearing for the respondent no.1/Bank submits that this writ petition was preferred seeking a direction for promotion from Clerk to Scale-I Officer. He further submits that during pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner was promoted to the post of Scale-I and thereafter, he was promoted to the post of ScaleII Officer and now he has retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on December 31, 2020. In view of such submissions, I am of the view that there is no requirement to proceed further with the writ petition.

Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of without any order.
