In response to the notice for rent attachment dated 31st January, 2022 issued by the Assessor Collector (South), Kolkata Municipal Corporation, the petitioner has made part payment of the dues of Rs.1,43,41,493/- only.

Today the petitioner has handed over the details of the payment with regard to the principal tax and the interest that is due and payable by the petitioner as per the Letter of Intimation dated 21st December, 2021. A number of Cheques and Bank Drafts have been handed over to the learned advocate for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation for liquidating the dues as mentioned in the said notice of rent attachment.

Subject to the clearance of the Bank Drafts and the Cheques that have been handed over to the learned advocate for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and upon payment of 1% penalty of the dues, amounting to Rs.17,213/- only, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation shall revoke the notice of rent attachment within a period of 48 hours thereof.

Upon clearance of the Cheques and the Bank Drafts issued by the petitioner for liquidating the dues raised in the LOI dated 21st December, 2021, the dues indicated therein shall stand satisfied.

The details of the payment and the numbers of the Cheques and the Bank Drafts handed over by the learned advocate for the petitioner in Court today be retained with the records.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
