A direction to secure expeditious disposal of a suit, instituted in the year 2000, being Title Suit No. 179 of 2000, now pending before the learned Civil Judge (Junior Division), Haldia, Purba Medinipur has been sought for, upon resorting to Article 227 of the Constitution of India.

Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that only one witness has been examined uptill now and that examination of witness for the plaintiff was concluded in the year 2015. There has been no trangible progress thereafter, as regards the examination of witnesses, if any, necessary for adjudication of the pending suit.

In view of the submission disclosed and bearing in mind the nature of order proposed to be made, the service of notice of the application upon the opposite party is deemed not necessary. Service of notice upon is thus dispensed with.

Learned Civil Judge (Junior Division), Haldia in Title Suit No. 179 of 2000 is directed to ensure expeditious disposal of pending suit, after disposing of interlocutory application, if there be any pending, preferably within a period of eighteen (18) months from the date of communication of this order to the learned court below, but without granting

unnecessary adjournment, unless it is extremely necessary.

While endeavouring such exercise, opportunity of hearing to both the parties must be ensured. With this direction and observation the revisional application stands disposed of.
