In connection with Case No. N-152/2021 arising out of Gaighata Police Station Case No. 1032/2021 dated 10th November, 2021 under Section 21(c) of the NDPS Act and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act presently pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court at Barasat, the petitioner has approached this Court for a direction upon the Trial Court for expeditious disposal of the aforesaid case. This Court is of the view that the instant revision can be disposed of here and now with the assistance of Mr. Imran Ali, learned Advocate. Mr. Ali is requested to assist this Court. Appointment of Mr. Ali be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

It is ascertained from the submission made by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that the petitioner was arrested with narcotic substance on 10th November, 2021. Supplementary chargesheet was filed on 1st September, 2022 and only on 10th January, 2023 charges were framed. The date was fixed in the month of March for recording evidence but no witness turned up on that date. There are 11 charge-sheeted witnesses.

The instant revision is disposed of directing the Trial Judge to take expeditious step for disposal of the above-mentioned case at an early date.
