This is an application for a direction upon the Trial Court for expeditious disposal of Case No. N-106/2021 arising out of Basirhat Police Station Case No. 599/2021 dated 21st August, 2021 under Section 21(C)/29 of the NDPS Act presently pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court at Barasat. On perusal of the materials-on-record this Court finds that the instant revision can be disposed of with the assistance of the learned Public Prosecutor-inCharge here and now. Therefore, Ms. Sujata Das is requested to assist this Court on behalf of the prosecution. Appointment of Ms. Das be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

It is found from the record that on 21st August, 2021 the petitioner was arrested. On 31st August, 2021 charge-sheet was submitted showing nine witnesses to be examined on behalf of the prosecution. On 12th September, 2022 charges were framed and thereafter out of nine witnesses two witnesses have been examined. Therefore, only seven witnesses are liable to be examined. The learned Trial Judge is directed to take appropriate step for examination of seven witnesses at the earliest preferably by the end of this year.
