Banerjee ... for the petitioner This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of the proceeding under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instrument Act. Learned Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. Although the complainant/petitioner had initiated the proceeding in question as far back as in January, 2017, till date the proceeding could not be concluded. The accused/opposite party no. 3 had been evading the due process of law. On a number of occasions he absented himself. Warrants of arrest had to be issued against him. On the next date he would come to Court and take bail. The proceeding has remained pending for no fault of the present petitioner.

I have heard the submissions of the learned Counsel appearing on behalf the petitioner and have perused the revision petition.

No prejudice will be caused to anyone if a direction for an expeditious disposal of the proceeding is passed in this case.

It appears that some delay has been occasioned in disposing of the proceeding in question.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties, preferably within a period of six months from the next date of hearing.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
