This is an application for a direction upon the Trial Court for expeditious disposal of Case No. N-167/2021 arising out of Gaighata Police Station Case No. 1165/2021 dated 13th December, 2021 under Section 21(C) of the NDPS Act and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act presently pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, 6th Court at Barasat. On perusal of the instant revision I find that the instant revision can be disposed of here and now with the assistance of the learned Advocate for the State. Therefore, Ms. Puspita Saha, learned Advocate is requested to assist this Court on behalf of the State of West Bengal. Appointment of Ms. Saha be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

By filing the instant revision it is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that the petitioner was arrested on 13th December, 2021. On 28th February, 2022 charge-sheet was submitted against the petitioner. In the charge-sheet there were eight witnesses to be examined on behalf of the prosecution. Subsequently on 1st November, 2022 charge was framed against the accused and the date was fixed in the month of January, 2023 for recording evidence. However, till date not a single witness has been examined. The learned Trial Judge is directed to take proactive measure for examination of the witnesses as per the prosecution so that the case pending before the said Court may be disposed of expeditiously.
