The writ petitioner claims to have been engaged by a Contrator entrusted with the responsibility of operating and maintaining at the Arsenic-cum-Iron Removal Plant at Bara Bakra Water Supply Scheme P. H. No.-II.

The respondent claims that the local Panchayat has been interfering with her engagement.

Various other prayers have been made but not pressed by the counsel for the petitioner. The petitioner seeks mandamus against the Panchayat from interfering with her engagement by the said contractor.

This Court notes that the grievance as regards employment or interference or otherwise of the petitioner can at the most be raised

against the employer, who admittedly is a private contractor engaged by the Panchayat.

No relief can, therefore, be granted to the writ petitioner in the instant proceeding. The maintainability of the writ petition before this Court is also in serious doubt.

The petitioner may pursue any other remedy for wrongful interference with his engagement by the authorities, if any, in accordance with law.

The instant writ petition stands dismissed.

No order as to costs.
