APP Mr. Amal Kumar Datta Ms. Arushi Rathore ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 31.08.2024. Earlier, 19 persons faced trial and they were convicted. The petitioner claims innocence and submits that he did not have any knowledge regarding the pendency of the present case.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits that the case was registered in the year 2015. Learned advocate added that the petitioner was absconded for more than nine years. So far as the other accused persons are concerned - who faced trial, have been convicted. According to the learned advocate, the petitioner is thickly connected with the instant case and after his arrest, charges have been framed. Learned advocate emphasizes that if the petitioner is released on

bail, there is every possibility that he would flee away from the process of law and justice, as such, cannot be delivered. Considering the conduct of the present petitioner, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected. Accordingly, CRM (M) 443 of 2026 is dismissed. Memo of Evidence submitted be kept with the record. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
