This is an application for expeditious disposal of N case no. 144 of 2021 filed by the petitioner/accused person in custody arising out of Hasnabad Police Station Case no. 649 of 2021 dated 30th October, 2021 under Section 21(c)/29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1984 presently pending before the Learned 6th Additional Sessions Judge at Barasat.

On perusal of the instant application and the materials on record, this court is of the view that the instant application can be disposed of with the assistance of the learned public prosecutor-in-charge on behalf of the State. Therefore Mr. Apurba Dutta learned advocate is requested to assist this court on behalf of the state. Appointment of Mr. Apurba Dutta

be regularized by the learned Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

It is submitted by the learned advocates for the petitioner that the petitioner was arrested on 30th October, 2021 and since then she is in custody. After completion of investigation Chargesheet was submitted being no. 126 of 2022 dated 30th March, 2022. Thereafter the Learned Court below fixed next date for production and framing of charge on 16th February, 2023.

It is further submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioners that the prosecution is not at all serious for speedy disposal of the case. Therefore, necessary direction may be issued upon the court below for expeditious disposal.

Having heard the learned Advocate for the petitioner and the learned Advocate for the State it is found that till date charge has not been framed by the trial court. Therefore, question of and direction for expeditious disposal of the abovementioned case does not arise at this stage. However, the learned trial judge is directed to frame charge against the accused persons and dispose of the case expeditiously. 6.

With the above direction the instant revision is disposed of. (Bibek Chaudhuri, J.)
