We asked learned Counsel for the petitioners whether or not the petitioners have any suggestion regarding the future course of action since, according to us, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), West Bengal, has explored all avenues.

Learned Advocate for the petitioners says that the petitioners have no further suggestion. However, the petitioners would like to have copies of correspondence exchanged by the Police Authorities of West Bengal with Police Authorities of other States.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned Advocate for the State, says that copies of internal documents cannot be made available to the petitioners. All that the Police Authorities have done, have been stated in the reports filed before this Court.

We are in agreement with Mr. Mukherjee. The petitioners may not be entitled to copies of internal documents. Copies of the reports filed in this Court have been made available to the petitioners.

Since CID says that it has done all that it could do and since that appears to be the case and the petitioners have no further suggestion, no useful purpose will be served by keeping this writ petition pending.

The application being WPA (H) 10 of 2024 is accordingly disposed of.

However, if the petitioners come across any new cue, they would be at liberty to approach the Officer-inCharge, Missing Persons Bureau, CID, West Bengal, Bhawani Bhawan, Kolkata - 700027, for further investigation in the matter.
