The writ petitioners complain of inaction by the Belgharia Police Station in respect of complaint lodged against his wife and mother-in-law.

The O. C., Belgharia Police Station has filed a report dated 15.02.2023 which is taken on record. It appears that the complaint as regards assault on the petitioners was lodged by his mother, Karuna Sikdar against Sibani Adak Sikdar. The same was registered as FIR No. 540 of 2021 dated 11.08.2021. FIR was investigated and Charge Sheet No. 686 of 2021 dated 30.09.2021 has been filed. It also appears that the private respondent has registered a complaint against the petitioner that was registered as FIR No. 539 of 2021 dated 11.08.2021 under Sections 498A/34 of the IPC.

Investigation has been completed and Charge Sheet No. 667 of 2021 dated 30.09.2021 has been filed. This Court sees no inaction on the part of the Belgharia Police Station.

The parties may take steps with regard to their claims for maintenance of a residence under the available statutes.

The writ petition is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
