Petitioner approached this Court being aggrieved by the inaction of the police authorities. Learned advocate appearing for the respondent no.8 submits that there has been political ramifications for which the respondent no.8 has been roped in. It is submitted that there was no defalcation and a mere irregularity has been blown out of proportion which did not result in any loss to the exchequer.

State has submitted a report enclosing the information furnished by the Block Development Officer, Suti-I Development Block on 04.03.2025. The same was addressed to the Inspector-inCharge, Suti Police Station, Murshidabad vide Memo No. 649/Suti-I/2025.

Having considered that the Block Development Officer, Suti-I Development Block, prima facie, has found violation in law which may

result in financial loss to the public exchequer, I am of the view that the Inspector-in-Charge, Suti Police Station would record the statement of the Block Development Officer, Suti-I Development Block further and if he finds that cognizable offence is made out, he will proceed in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 3393 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
