Petitioners are the father-in-law and brother-in-law respectively of the victim wife. It is contended they have been falsely implicated. Accordingly, they pray for anticipatory bail. 2.

Learned Advocate relies on WhatsApp chat of the victim implicating the mother-in-law in the crime.

We have considered the materials on record. Petitioners are the in-laws of the victim wife. Allegations of torture levelled against the petitioners are general and omnibus. In WhatsApp chat the victim implicates her mother-in-law who is in custody. 4.

Keeping in mind the extent of complicity of the petitioners in the crime, we are inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

Accordingly, we direct that in the event of arrest, the petitioners viz., 1) Ratan Das and 2) Sourav Das be released on bail upon furnishing a bond of Rs.10,000/- each, with two sureties of like amount each, to the satisfaction of the Arresting Signed By : ALOK SETH High Court of Calcutta 20 th of February 2025 12:34:45 PM

Officer and also subject to the conditions as laid down under Section 482(2) of the BNSS. They shall appear before the jurisdictional court and pray for regular bail within four weeks from date.
