The petitioner participated in 2nd State Level Selection Test, 2025 mentioning himself to be a member of the reserved category/OBC-A relying on a certificate issued by the Pradhan of the Gram Panchayat on 11th August, 2025. The petitioner has thereafter been issued a reservation certificate by the Sub-Divisional Officer on 16th October, 2025 mentioning that he belongs to the OBC-B category. The petitioner seeks the benefit of reservation.

It has been submitted that the petitioner previously belonged to the OBC-A category and thereafter the same got changed to the OBC-B category. The petitioner is no way responsible for such change and the benefit of reservation ought to be given to him.

On perusal of the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that the petitioner applied for participating in the recruitment process on 10th July, 2025. On that day the petitioner did not have any reservation certificate in his favour. The reservation certificates relied upon by the petitioner issued by the Pradhan and the Sub-Divisional Officer are dated 11th August, 2025 and 16th October, 2025, respectively. 5.

The West Bengal Central School Service Commission has disclosed its stand that, any certificate seeking reservation, issued after the last date for filing the application form i.e, 21st July, 2025, will not be accepted.

In view of the above, the prayer of the petitioner seeking reservation relying on the certificates issued after 21st July, 2025 cannot be accepted. 7.

The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.

All parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
