1. By this public interest writ petition the petitioner alleges that a mela was conducted in the border of the State that too when Madhyamik Examinatins were going on and people from Bangladesh freely entered the mela where Bangladeshi singers participated and no permission was obtained from any authority.

2. Admittedly, the programme is already over. Nonetheless, if the allegation made by the petitioner is correct, then the authorities should look into the matter in respect of any other future programmes that may be organized.

3. Therefore, we direct the District Magistrate, Nadia to consider the representation dated 4.3.2024 stated to have been submitted by the petitioner and proceed to take action in accordance with law.

4. The petitioner is directed to appear in person in the office of the District Magistrate and submit a copy of the representation along with all annexures and documents including the copy of this order so as to enable the District Magistrate to comply with the above direction.

5. With the above directions, the matter stands disposed of.
