Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the election has been deferred by the Election Commission and that the election should be conducted promptly.

Mr. Nayak, learned counsel for the Election Commission, submits, in contrast, that due to law and order concerns, the election could not be held on February 12, 2025. He further submits that the

Election Commission is making preparations to hold the election within a short period of time.

It is an undisputed fact before this Court that the final voter list has already been published.

In light of this, I direct the Election Commission to conduct the election within a period of two months from the date of this order, by appropriately modifying the previously published election schedule and fixing the necessary dates.

Respondent No. 7 is directed to provide all necessary assistance to ensure that the election is held in a peaceful manner.

Accordingly, WPA 3442 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent certified photostat copy of this order, if applied for, shall be given to the parties as expeditiously as possible on compliance of all necessary formalities.
