It is further submitted no narcotic substance was recovered from his possession. He is a political person and has been falsely implicated in the instant case.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits petitioner hails from Imphal in the State of Manipur. He is involved in trafficking of narcotics. He has criminal antecedents. He was seen conferring with co-accuseds in a hotel couple of days prior to the recovery. Investigation is in progress.

We have considered the materials on record. It is true no narcotic substance was recovered from the petitioner. But CCTV footage of the hotel shows the petitioner was present with co-accuseds on 08.07.2022. Soon thereafter, i.e. on 16.07.2022 and 17.07.2022, narcotics were recovered from co-accuseds. Further investigation is in progress with regard to his conspiracy in interstate trafficking of narcotics. That apart, petitioner has criminal antecedents. One of the cases registered against the petitioner involves trafficking of narcotics.

Under such circumstances and as further investigation is pending, we do not consider it prudent to release the petitioner on bail. The application for bail is thus rejected.
