He participated in the recruitment process initiated by the West Bengal Board of Primary Education in the year 2016. He was directed to report on 23.10.2016 for scrutiny/verification and interview/aptitude test to be conducted by the Board. It has been asserted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that the candidate did appear in the scrutiny/aptitude test on the scheduled date, but the fate of the interview was not immediately intimated to the petitioner.

The petitioner thereafter was intimated the reason for rejection of his candidature was that his date of birth was not within the valid range. The petitioner claims that he is an OBC category candidate and is entitled to relaxation in age. From the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that even after granting the benefit of age relaxation, the petitioner has crossed the age limit for appointment. When the petitioner appeared in the interview/aptitude test in the year 2016 possibly he was unsuccessful in the same and accordingly no intimation was given to the petitioner. By the passage of time, he crossed the age limit and at this stage there is no scope for providing any appointment to him.

The writ petition accordingly fails and is hereby dismissed. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on completion of usual formalities.
