The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal on the part of the respondent authorities to provide a new electricity connection.

The CESC Limited is represented.

Advocate appearing on behalf of the CESC Limited submits that the petitioner seeks splitting of load and the petitioner has an alternative efficacious remedy available under Clause 14 of the Regulation 53 of the West Bengal Electricity Regulations.

In view of the statutory remedy available to the petitioner under Clause 14 of the Regulation 53 of the West Bengal Electricity Regulations the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the Ombudsman by way of filing an application within two weeks from date. If such application is made by the petitioner within two weeks from date before the Ombudsman, the Ombudsman is requested to consider and dispose of the same after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other affected parties within four weeks from the date of filing of such representation.

With the aforesaid directions this petition being WPA No. 4175 of 2021 stands disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. (Ravi Krishan Kapur,J)
