Report submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the State be also kept with the record. The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that she is being threatened by the accused persons associated with Dhantala Police Station Case No. 906/2023.

In spite of informing the police authorities, no steps have been taken and as such, the petitioner is insecure presently, particularly with regard to the criminal case which is pending and its outcome.

State has submitted a report which reflects that the investigating agency on conclusion of investigation has submitted charge-sheet before the jurisdictional court.

In view of the criminal case pending and the petitioner being a witness in the charge-sheet who is to support the prosecution to prove its case, I direct that if the petitioner takes out any application before the learned Magistrate/Trial

Court in seisin of the matter, the concerned court would apply the provisions of the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018. Accordingly, a threat perception report be called for from the local police station and on an analysis of the threat perception report, necessary directions for protection, if any, be directed upon the police authorities to be implemented.

With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 3647 of 2025 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
