Petitioner is in custody for two years and four months. Hence, he prays for bail on the score of delay. 2.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the bail prayer. He contends 200 bottles of phensedyl syrup was recovered from petitioner and nine out of twelve witnesses have already been examined.

We have considered the materials on record. Narcotics above commercial quantity i.e. 200 bottles of phensedyl syrup was recovered from the petitioner. Trial has also considerably progressed.

Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

We request the trial court to conclude the trial within six months from the next date fixed for recording evidence

without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

Parties shall co-operate with the trial court and communicate this order for due compliance.
