The petitioner renews his prayer solely on the ground of prolonged detention. The petitioner is in custody for more than 4 years. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that out of 79 witnesses only one witness has been examined till date.
Learned counsel for the State and the defacto complainant oppose the prayer for bail.
Learned counsel for the State submits that the prosecution proposes to examine 20 witnesses out of 79.
In view of the above, bail prayer is rejected at this stage. Learned trial Court is directed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible without granting
any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.
