It is contended on behalf of the petitioner that request for extension of route Santaldih to Kolkata CBT upto Jharia from Santaldih was allowed by the State Transport Authority, West Bengal which by a letter issued on July 15, 2022 to the Secretary, the State Transport Authority, Jharkhand requested the latter to accord his consent/concurrence on the proposed extension since the proposed extension was lying within the State of Jharkhand and is not included in the reciprocal transport agreement, 2004 between the two states. No reply has been received from the Jharkhand authority till date. Learned counsel for the respondent nos. 6 and 7 submits that the 7th respondent be directed to take a decision in accordance with law.

In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of directing the 7th respondent to take a reasoned decision with regard to the letter issued to him by the State Transport Authority, West Bengal on July 15, 2022 within two weeks from the date of communication of this order, in accordance with law.

With the above observations and directions this writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be, however, no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties upon compliance of necessary formalities.
