Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 269 days. He appears to have voluntarily surrendered at the Police Station after murdering his wife. Charges are framed. Date has been fixed for witness action. Further detention of the petitioner is not required.

Learned counsel for the State produces the Case Diary and opposes the prayer. Learned counsel submits that the petitioner has been implicated by witnesses in their statements under Section 161 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Date of evidence has been fixed on 28th April, 2025.

I have considered the material on record.

It appears that the petitioner voluntarily surrendered before the Police Station and confessed murder of his wife. Charges have been framed. Witnesses examined during investigation have implicated the petitioner in the alleged offence.

Considering the material available in the Case Diary as well as gravity of the offence, this Court is not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. Case Diary be returned.

The application for bail is disposed of.
