Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 357 days. Charge sheet has been submitted. He is not the principal accused. The petitioner prays for bail. Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. It appears from the material on record, particularly the statement of the son of the victim recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure that the petitioner aided the principal accused in the alleged incident and can be said to be directly involved therein. Postmortem report of the victim supports the said statement.

Considering the material available before me as well as the gravity of the offence, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. The application for bail is disposed of.
