The request of the petitioner for appointment under the unreserved category (meritorious sportsman) upon a vacancy created due to resignation of an appointed candidate was turned down by the concerned authority. The petitioner approached this Court against the said order in a writ petition which was disposed of rejecting the prayer of the petitioner. The said order was carried in appeal by the petitioner and by an order passed on 8th August, 2025, the appeal was dismissed affirming the order of the learned Single Bench. The petitioner sought liberty to challenge the legality of the government guideline dated 2nd July, 2010 which was granted by the Hon'ble Division Bench/the appellate forum.

In view thereof, the petitioner seeks to challenge the legality of the concerned government guideline before the appropriate forum.

In view of the above, no fruitful purpose shall be served in keeping the writ petition pending. The same is accordingly disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
