The instant writ petition has been filed for a direction upon the West Bengal Administrative Tribunal to dispose of the original application being OA 1221 of 2015 within a specified time.

The certified copy of the orders passed in the said proceeding was annexed with the writ petition. The orders passed therein would reveal that the affidavits are complete yet the matter is adjourned for one reason or another.

The object of setting up of the tribunal is to secure the timely disposal of the cases. The matter, which has been filed in the year 2015, is yet to be brought to its logical end. More than seven years has elapsed but the matter is still pending in the docket of the tribunal. We are informed that the next date is fixed on 26th April 2022 for hearing.

We, therefore, direct the West Bengal Administrative Tribunal to take up the matter on the said date and efforts shall be shown to dispose of the

same within two months therefrom by recording proper reasons.

Both the learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner as well as the State have assured that they would cooperate with the Bench in adhering the time limit indicated herein above and shall not seek unnecessary adjournment unless necessitated by unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances.

With such observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
