The petitioners challenged order dated 13th October, passed by the District Inspector of Schools (PE), Murshidabad declining "A" category pay scale to the petitioners from the last date of examination i.e. 16th March, 2019. They have been given "A" category pay scale from 26th August, 2022, i.e. the date of publication of results. 3.

It is now well settled that a person is deemed to have been qualified from the last date of

examination in the event he succeeds the same.

In those circumstances, this Court directs that the petitioners shall be granted "A"

category pay scale after the last date of examination, i.e. 17th March, 2019.

Let the arrears be paid to the petitioners within two months from date.

The impugned order dated 27th September, 2023 shall stand quashed and set aside.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. (Rajasekhar Mantha, J.)
