The allegation against the petitioner is very serious. The allegation is of gang rape by the petitioner and four other persons. We are told that three of the other four persons were arrested and have been enlarged on bail.

Having regard to the nature and gravity of the offence that the petitioner has been charged with, and having regard to the statement of the victim girl recorded under Sections 161/164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, we are not inclined to allow the present application for anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, the application being C.R.M. 1651 of 2021 is dismissed.
