Commercial quantity of contraband was recovered from the petitioners. In view of the restrictions in Section 37 of the NDPS Act, the petitioners' prayer for bail cannot be entertained. However, the petitioners say that they are in custody for about 818 days. Nobody knows when the trial will conclude. We have considered the material in the case diary including the seizure list and statements of witnesses. In view of the protracted detention of the petitioner, we request the learned Trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the Court may permit and preferably within a period of one year

from date without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.

The prayer for bail stands rejected.
