This is an application for expeditious disposal of a proceeding under Sections 498A, 406 and 34 of the Penal Code. Let a copy of the application be served upon the learned Public Prosecutor and the learned advocate Mr. Arijit Ganguly, They are requested to represent the State in this case. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. The petitioners are the accused in this case. They are the motherin-law and father-in-law of the alleged victim. The FIR was lodged on 11.01.2019 and a charge sheet was submitted on 30.06.2020 citing eight witnesses. However, charges could be framed only on 16.02.2024. Till date, none of the witnesses have been examined. Long dates are being fixed.

Learned Public Prosecutor representing the State submits that although the Presiding Officer was also on leave on 20.12.2024, the witnesses remained present, but the accused were absent by the petition. It appears that there is some delay in conducting the proceeding. In view of the above, the learned Trial Court is requested to conclude the trial in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible by fixing shorter dates.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
