The writ petitioners complain that, notwithstanding FIR No. 136 of 2021 dated 24.10.2021 under Sections 448/323/325/427/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, Udaynarayanpur Police Station, Howrah has not taken any steps.

Counsel for the State submits that investigation into the said complaint has been completed, and charge-sheet No. 139 of 2021 dated 30.11.2021 under Sections 341/323/325/506/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 has been filed.

It is expected that trial in the aforesaid chargesheet shall be commenced as expeditiously as possible.

The petitioners complain that they are being prevented by the private respondents from entering

into their own residence unless they pay a sum of Rs.20,000/- to them. The said private respondents are also said to have assaulted the petitioners, and destroyed valuable items at the petitioners' residence. The Officer-in-charge, Udaynarayanpur Police Station, Howrah shall ensure that the petitioners are able to enter into their residence, and if necessary, register a formal complaint in this regard.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

The report in the form of instructions of the Officer-in-Charge, Udaynarayanpur Police Station, Howrah dated 7th March, 2022, addressed to the learned State Advocate, is taken on record.

There will be no order as to costs.
