Mr. Khairul Alam ...for the petitioner Mr. Mihir Kundu ...for the WBSEDCL Learned counsel for the petitioner, in his usual fairness, submits that during the pendency of the writ petition, the primary relief sought in the writ petition, that is, restoration of the petitioner's electricity connection, has been granted by the WBSEDCL.

However, learned counsel contends that the petitioner is still aggrieved with the inflated bill raised by the WBSEDCL in respect of the electricity charges.

Learned counsel appearing for the Distribution Licensee controverts the allegation made by his counterpart appearing for the petitioner and contends that no

inflated bill is subsisting at the present point of time.

Be that as it may, since the petitioner has already got restoration of connection, the writ petition has been spent its force. As far as the grievance of the petitioner in respect of the alleged inflated bill is concerned, it will be open to the petitioner to approach the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer, who is the competent authority as per law, to decide such issue regarding the alleged inflation of bill.

If the petitioner so refers the matter to the concerned Grievance Redressal Officer, the latter will decide the same in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible upon giving adequate opportunity of hearing to all concerned, preferably within five weeks from the date of reference by the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
