No one appears on behalf of the respondent-Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), although the petitioner, the Calcutta University and the State are represented. This is despite an earlier attempt to serve notice by speed post, which the IISWBM refused to receive and the subsequent service of notice through the Officer in Charge of the local police station. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is a permanent employee of the IISWBM. Presently, he is having the designation of a Junior Assistant. As per law, he is entitled to at least the scale of pay of an Assistant Librarian, Grade-II (Entry Level)

of University of Calcutta. The petitioner had made a representation dated 15.01.2024 before the concerned respondent authority of the IISWBM. But, the same has not been considered as yet.

Learned counsels appearing on behalf of the University and the State submit that the petitioner's prayer may be considered in accordance with law.

It appears that the petitioner's representation dated 15.01.2024 made to the Director, IISWBM has not yet been considered.

Let the Director, IISWBM consider the representation of the petitioner dated 15.01.2024 in accordance with law and as expeditiously as possible, preferably within four weeks from the date of communication of this order. The outcome of such consideration shall also be communicated to the petitioner within a week therefrom.

With these observations, the writ petition is disposed of.

However, it is made clear that the merits of the case has not been gone into.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible. A copy of the order may also be communicated to the Director, IISWBM through the Officer in Charge of Jorasanko Police Station, within a week from this date. (Jay Sengupta, J.)
