Petitioner seeks anticipatory bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is sought to be proceeded against on the basis of the statement of the co-accused.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State submits that one person was arrested with large quantity of kerosene who named the petitioner as the supplier of such kerosene.

Considering the fact that kerosene is a commodity covered under the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 and considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner therein, we are unable to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

The application for anticipatory bail, being CRM (A) 1023 of 2022, is rejected.
