An action taken report has been filed by the Maheshtala Municipality dated 16th May, 2023. It appears therefrom that a spot inspection was conducted and unauthorised construction was detected at the time of spot inspection. Part of the unauthorised construction has been demolished but a portion of the extended cantilever is yet to be removed.

Learned advocate representing the private respondent undertakes to remove the unauthorised portion shortly.

The report further mentions that the land in question is recorded as 'pukur'. The learned advocate representing the private respondent undertakes to provide

the conversion certificate.

The private respondent is directed to act in accordance with the undertaking given in Court today to remove the extended portion of the unauthorised cantilever and to produce the conversion certificate before the Mehashtala Municipality.

Steps shall be taken in the matter at the earliest. The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
