The Commissioner, Durgapur Municipal Corporation has submitted instruction before this Court wherefrom it appears that for the purpose of obtaining the water connection the petitioner is required to pay a sum of Rs.

1,90,000/- only on account of two water meters which is the total outstanding dues from the petitioner for the period February 2021 to August 2022.

Upon payment of the aforesaid amount the Durgapur Municipal Corporation is directed to restore water connection to the petitioner within a period of twenty-four hours.

As regards the dues of the Corporation prior to February 2021 it will be open for the Durgapur Municipal Corporation to apply before the appropriate forum for recovery of the dues in accordance with law.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

The communication of the Commissioner, Durgapur Municipal Corporation dated August 30, 2022 addressed to the learned advocate disclosing the amount payable by the petitioner be retained with the records.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
