In the cause title of the order, CRM (M) 646 of 2025 be read as CRM (DB) 646 of 2025.
Department is directed to incorporate necessary correction accordingly.
This order be treated as part of the order passed on 8th April, 2025.
Supplementary affidavit filed by the petitioner and the report submitted by the State are taken on record.
It appears from the medical report of the petitioner that the petitioner is suffering from schizophrenia which is under control at present and he is currently doing well. Medical treatment is being rendered to the petitioner at the correctional home. Therefore question of release of the petitioner on bail on medical ground does not arise.
On merits, the evidence on record prima facie suggests that the petitioner stabbed the victim with a knife and fled away. Considering the evidence on record connecting the petitioner to the crime, prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. However, the Superintendent, Balurghat Correctional Home is directed to render all possible medical assistance to the petitioner as and when required.
The application for bail is disposed of.
