The State of West Bengal and others Mr. K. D. Poddar, Mr. Amit Kumar Dutta ...for the petitioners.

Mr. Subhabrata Datta, Mr. Debashis Sarkar ... for the State.

The writ petitioners are aggrieved that despite complaint on 17th January, 2020 to the Pandua Police Station and the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly against the private respondents, no steps have been taken.

The petitioner's remedy under Section 156(3) of the Cr. P. C. does not appear to have been availed. There are civil remedies that the petitioners can also avail which has not been done till date. Counsel for the State submits that proceedings under Sections 107 and 116(3) have been drawn up against the private respondents.

In those circumstances, no relief can be granted to the petitioners in the instant writ petition. However, the Officer-in-Charge, Pandua Police Station shall ensure that there is no breach of peace in the locale.
